A delicious, creamy beverage great for a cozy afternoon or a relaxing ritual before bed.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups milk of choice (I prefer 1/2 canned coconut milk and 1/2 water.)
1 tsp dried lavender flowers
1 tsp raw honey
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp reishi powder (optional)
1/4 tsp cordyceps (daytime) or ashwagandha (evening) (optional)
1 – 2 scoops collagen peptides (optional, but it’ll make it extra creamy and give you an extra boost of protein)
Directions
- In a small sauce pan, warm milk and lavender together until desired temperature. Strain immediately or let steep for a few minutes depending on how strong you want the lavender to shine through.
- Return milk to pan (or a blender). Using a whisk or an immersion blender, blend in remaining ingredients.
- Poor into your favorite mug. Top with a Toasty Vanilla Marshmallow, a sprinkle of lavender flowers, and enjoy.
Notes
- If you are pregnant, omit the adaptogens (reishi/cordyceps/ashwagandha) and just add a sprinkle of lavender for a fast infusion. As always, consult with your physician or herbalist when it comes to using herbal medicines; that, I am neither.
